"Moise was one of the Metis men who signed the petition for a Metis reserve in Montana, sent by Louis Riel to General Nelson A. Miles, August 6, 1880. Martha Foster has pointed out that many of the signatories were members of the Spring Creek Metis Band...Moise spoke five Indian languages as well as Michif, English and French."
